Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1305.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 1:00 PM at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Centerville for James Francis "Jimbo" Palmer, 56, a native of New Orleans and resident of Verdunville, who passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home in Verdunville. Fr. Ruben Primor will be the Celebrant for the Mass. Following the Mass, James will be cremated and interred in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Patterson at 11:00 AM on Thursday. Jimbo loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping. His favorite was making and sitting around a campfire, relaxing while listening to the crackle of the fire, with his constant companion Rodney his dog. Survivors include one son, Dustin J. Palmer; his parents, Thomas "Tex" Palmer and Marion Landry Palmer; two sisters, Belinda Palmer Trahan and her husband Don and Chris Palmer Grabert and her husband Jay; as well as three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Simon Palmer, as well as by his maternal and paternal grandparents. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 1:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 12:30 PM.
