A memorial service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Charenton on Thursday, May 30. Father Gregory Cormier will be officiating. The church will open at 9:00 a.m.; the rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. with a mass following at 12:00 noon. Gladys has given her body to Tulane Medical University for the study of science. Gladys was born in Long Beach, California, on Jan. 30, 1924. Her parents were George and Augusta Funk. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland “Son” Viguerie Sr. and her daughter, Jo Anne Touchet. She is survived by her four children, Roland “Sonny” Viguerie Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Charenton; Gwen Leedom and husband, Ray, of Centerville; Cindy Rogers and husband, Jimmie, of Charenton; Connie Durocher and husband, Ronald, of Charenton; son-in-law, Howard Touchet of Charenton; eighteen grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Funk of New Iberia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jason Landry, AAA Hospice and all of her caregivers who lovingly cared for her. ===================
