Bollotte, 62, passed away in a local care facility after a brief battle with cancer. A native of Morgan City, he lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was the son of Maurice and Mercedes Bollotte. Burt was a 1968 graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and attended McNeese State University. He was the owner of Talley & Associates Employment Agency. He was very involved in the community serving on numerous boards and committees including YMBC, Wishing Well, McNeese Petro Chem, Krewe Des Amis, Krewe de Zeus, Buccaneers (Jean Lafitte 1990) and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. As a past alumni advisor, the brotherhood of Kappa Sigma Fraternity is something he always held close to his heart, AEKDB. He loved music, playing the congas with the band DaCuda and was the life of the party. Burt is survived by his girlfriend, Liz Doucet, who with her love and commitment never left his side during his illness; his daughters, Haley (Dustin) Pole and Lindsay (Marvin) Ardoin; sister, Sharon “Sherry” Miller; granddaughters, McKlayne, Mallory and Morgan; niece, Brenna (Christer) Treland; nephew, Jon (Teri) Clausen; and his beloved pet, Kita. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Mercedes Bollotte. Visitation will be held Saturday June 15, 2013, at Johnson Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. No formal ceremony will be observed. A Celebration of Burt’s life will also be held June 29, 2013, at the KC Hall on Ernest Street. The family would like to thank those friends of Burt’s who brought him to appointments and who stayed with him during his illness.
