Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1306.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mrs. Vera Lee Chauvin Cormier, 87, a native of Algiers and a lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Saturday evening, June 15, 2013, at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Pastor Brad Bullock will officiate the services. Mrs. Vera was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Assumption. She enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Camille E. Cormier; five children, Brenda C. Pontiff and her husband Murphy, Trudy C. Vidrine and her husband Blaine, Rudy T. Christensen, Debbie C. May and her husband Kenneth, and Bonnie C. Daigle and her husband David; one brother, C. T. Chauvin and his wife Beverly; one sister, Marilyn C. Patizio; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Millie Patricia Christensen; one son, John H. Christensen, Jr.; and her parents, Clisme John Chauvin and Mildred Lambert Chauvin. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, June 19, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visiting will resume Thursday at 9:00 AM and continue until service time at 11:00 AM. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy May, Andy Sinitiere, Pete Broussard, Michael Pontiff, Jody Vidrine, and Jason Vidrine. Honorary pallbearers will be her son and sons-in-law, Rudy Christensen, Kenneth May, David Daigle, Murphy Pontiff, and Blaine Vidrine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mrs. Vera's name to Hospice Compassus, 1438 S.
