Girouard, the former Joycelyn Talbot, 81, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard with the Rev. Louie Richard officiating. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 1 p.m. until the time of the services. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Cemetery. A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Broussard, Mrs. Girouard passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, 2013, at 12:45 p.m. Joyce “Toot” was a graduate of St. Cecilia Catholic School (1948), Spencer’s Business College and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Ladies’ Altar Society. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and wife who enjoyed life to the fullest. Her past interests were oil painting, needlework, pokeno, crossword puzzles and fishing at the camp in Stephensville. She is survived by one daughter, Donna, and her husband, William “Billy” Stanley Jr. of Morgan City; one grandson, Craig, and his wife, Mandy Mayo Viator of Youngsville; and three lovely great-granddaughters, Lily Grace, Ava Rhea and Ella Faye Viator. She was preceded in death by her husband and caregiver, Ned Joseph Girouard, who passed away on June 8, 2013; parents, Edgar and Bella Broussard Talbot; two sisters, Attie and her husband, Charles A. Girouard, and Bernice and her husband, Thomas Guidry; and three brothers, Stanley Talbot and his wife, Mary, Sanford “Tee” Talbot and his wife, Cecile, and Clifford “Bill” Talbot and his wife, Ruby. Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Viator, William “Billy” Stanley, Larry Girouard, Erick Dahl, Don Girouard and George Debaillion. The family would like to thank Dr. Dee Dee Luke, Dr. Kevin Hargrave and Hospice of Acadiana for their compassion and caring given by them and their staff. And special thanks to family, friends and neighbors for their help and love over the years during her journey with Parkinson’s.
