Charmaine Hackney, 62, a native of Alexandria and a resident of Patterson, 
passed away June 11, 2013, in Thibodaux.

Charmaine enjoyed her potted plants and watching her ladybugs. She loved her 
home, which she referred to as her own castle. She very much enjoyed baking 
sweets for her family. She was also an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and 
bled Purple and Gold for LSU Football.

Charmaine is survived by her daughter, Chauncey Vinning and her “favorite” son-
in-law, Kevin, of Patterson; her brothers, Ronald Hackney and his wife, 
Deborah, of Pass Christian, and Thomas Hackney of Bayou Vista; her aunt, Dot 
Hackney of Berwick; her former husband, Harry J. Carpenter of Patterson; her 
faithful companion, Murdock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Charmaine was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Vera Hackney; and her 
uncle, Pete Hackney.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
