Edith Mildred Dees Kern, 89, a native of Noble and a longtime resident of 
Morgan City, Edith passed away peaceful June 4, 2013, while surrounded by her 
loving family.

Edith was a lady of many talents she enjoyed crafting, cooking for her family 
all their favorites like shrimp balls, and stuffed shrimp. Edith even went 
shrimping for her own shrimp. During her retirement years she and her husband, 
Edward, spent most of their time at the camp tending to the garden, fishing, 
and reading. Edith wasn't a complainer she faced the world with a smile and 
enjoyed every moment life had to offer. Edith was an amazing lady who will be 
missed by all. Those who knew her were made better just by knowing and loving 
her.

Edith is survived by her children, Patsy Kern of Morgan City, Wanda Ware and 
her husband, Tom, of Morgan City, Richard Kern and his wife, Joyce, of Council 
Bluffs, Iowa, Peggy Drown of Morgan City, Glen Kern and his wife, Wanda, of 
Stephensville, and Karen Davidson and her husband, Donald, of Morgan City. 
Edith is also survived by her grandchildren, Nelson Folse Jr., Michelle Himel, 
Melissa Schenover, Kathy Dallin, Lisa Charpentier, Kerry Koester, Brent Kern, 
Sherry Dinger, Scott Adkins, Stacy Boyer, Yvonne Nunez, Leah Nicar, Terry 
Davidson, Jamie Michel, and numerous Great Grandchildren and Great- Great 
grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kern; her daughter, Sheila 
Kern; her grandson, Brian Usner; and her parents, James and Donie Dees.
