Dorothy Mae Nevis, 68, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died 
Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:55 a.m.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in 
Houma, and from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. Funeral service 
will be at Residence Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. 

Burial will follow in Union Benevolent Cemetery.

She is survived by: seven sons, Kimball, George, Jr. (Angela), Bryron, Gregory, 
Elliott, Shaun, and Christopher Nevis; one daughter, Deborah Nevis; four 
sisters, Rosemary (Rev. Vincent) Fusilier, Betty Celestine, Leona (Joseph) 
Norman, and Etha Mae Turner; thirty-five grandchildren; and five great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, George Nevis, Sr.; parents, William 
and Alma McGuire; and brother-in-law, Herbert Celestine.

Jones Funeral Home of Houma, in charge of arrangements.
