She was born on Sept. 16, 1987, in California. Ashley was adopted at the age of 6 months, with her “gotcha day” being April 15. Soon following was the adoption of Aubrie Jane, her sister. The Offerdahl family was then complete and they have lived a life of happiness, love and laughter. Suddenly on May 29, 2013, our sweet angel, Ashley, was taken to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Ashley was the greatest joy throughout her life. She carried herself with grace and confidence and had the sweetest spirit. As a child she began dance at the age of 2, which allowed her to travel to many places while expanding her talents. We resided in Berwick, where she had many friends. She was crowned Miss Teen St. Mary’s Parish at the age of 13. She was to attend Miss Teen Louisiana, however we moved that year to Gulf Breeze, Fla. Again, Ashley enjoyed life to the fullest. She developed great friendships, cheered and played golf at Gulf Breeze High School. She attended Flagler College for two years, where she continued golfing. She returned to the University of West Florida to get her bachelor’s degree in resort and hospitality management. Ashley was loved by many in the community. She became involved in several community activities which led to her being chosen as a “Princess” in Fiesta of Five Flags — a great honor. She also was a mentor at Children’s Home Society for a child whose one parent had died and the other was incarcerated. Ashley spent time with this precious girl once a week planning special moments with her in hopes of bringing some joy to her life. Ashley traveled to Nicaragua and Costa Rica to once again, help others during her Christmas holidays. She traveled for three weeks with a VIDA volunteer dental group helping the underprivileged. She was ecstatic to have this opportunity, which gave her even more of a desire to become a doctor. This trip influenced her decision to continue her education in a field where she would be able to touch many lives. Ashley finished her pre-med education this past semester and was to attend Life Chiropractic University this July. Her ambition was to become a chiropractic neurologist. Her excitement was overwhelming, but God had other plans — He needed a perfect angel. Ashley is with Him now. As a gift to our girls, we just returned from a lifetime family trip where we made fabulous memories together. Ashley will be forever missed and loved. You are our sunshine and we are sending butterfly kisses to you, our baby girl. Ashley was very much in love with her fiancé of three years, Brian Mansor. He adored her and made her feel like a princess all of their days together. She said he treated her as Dad did her Mom — true love. Ashley was preceded in heaven by her grandfather, “Poppa” Aubrey James Lasseigne; and her grandmothers, Jessie Mae Lasseigne and Lois Jane Lasseigne. Ashley is now a beautiful guardian angel to us who are left here on earth, her grandparents, Phillip and Donna Offerdahl of Conover, Wis.; her parents, Nels and Abbie Offerdahl; and her loving lil’ sister, Aubrie Jane Offerdahl. She leaves behind her much loved fiancé, Brian Mansor of Maryland, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, 75 Fairpoint Dr., Gulf Breeze, Fla. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that donations be made to Children’s Home Society, 1300 N. Palafox St., Suite 103, Pensacola, FL 32501. ===================
