Surrounded by family and friends, Noricia fell asleep in death on May 30, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 113 Lydia St., Patterson. She is survived by her husband, Jude Young; her father, Linus Blanchard; two daughters, Betty Jo Thomas and husband, Edward, and Laura Young; two brothers, Reese Blanchard and Kenneth Blanchard; a sister, Vickie Turner; and two grandchildren, Megan Hall and Kaeden Thomas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Neal Blanchard. Through her life she gave herself to comforting and helping others, whether it was assisting someone learn God’s Bible truths or caring for the sick and elderly. She had the ability to view a negative situation as a positive challenge to prove her faith and loyalty. She enjoyed singing, traveling and spending time with family. Mama, you have touched us all with your love, light, faith, songs and strength. You will forever live in our minds, hearts, spirits and lives. Until we “meet you at the mountains” and see your beautiful red hair again ... we love you. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements. ===================
