The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Macedonia Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sis. Ledger Robertson, who was called “Palu” and “Big Moma” by her family and friends, was born on June 7, 1928 to the late Beatrice Wells and the late Albert Chillis. She met and married Wallace Robertson in 1960. She was a native of Louisa and later moved to Glencoe and for the last six years, a resident of New Iberia. Sis. Robertson was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Ella Mae Latigue (a devoted caregiver) of New Iberia; Brenda (Lester) Guillory of Harlem, New York; Sherry Robertson of Glencoe; eight sons, Clifton (Katie) Chillis of Houston, Texas; Willie (Debra) Gabriel of Fort Worth, Texas; Ronald (Evelyn) Chillis Sr., of Four Corners; Gralyn (Ranash) Robertson of Scott; Wallace Robertson and Wayne Robertson of Jeanerette; Larry Robertson and Kevin Robertson of Glencoe; and Rogers Latigue; two sisters, Marion Latigue and Gladys Barkay of New Iberia; two brothers, Pastor Michael (Yvonne) Wiltz Sr. of Spring, Texas; and Allen Ray (Diane) Wells of New Iberia; two devoted grandchildren; two devoted friends, Ms, Pearly Johnson and Ms. Jane Bowie; 31 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who realize that earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Wells and Albert Chillis; her husband, Wallace Robertson Sr.; two brothers, Roosevelt Teno and Isiah McGandy; one uncle, Henry Wells; one grandchild, Jemery Collins; one great grandchild, Ja’Zalah Robertson; and her grandmother, Elnora Ford. Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements. Sis. Robertson will be laid to rest in Alice B in the Mt, Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. ===================
