James Smith, Sr., 68, a native and resident of Thibodaux, LA, died Wednesday, 
July 17, 2013a at 2:41 p.m.

Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home in Houma from 10-2 p.m. on Friday. 
Viewing will be at Moses Baptist Church from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 
10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013. 

Burial will follow in Moses Baptist Cemetery #2.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Evelyn Williams-Smith; two sons, 
James, Jr. (Lillie) Smith and Lexva Tucker; seven daughters, Yvonne (Francis) 
Jackson, Victoria (Joshua) Richard, Nancy, Kathie L., and Rihanna Smith, 
Reeshma and Latima Tucker; two brothers, Freddie and Walter L. Smith; and three 
sisters, Fannie Zachery, Ester Nora, and Sylvia Jones; nineteen grandchildren 
and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Nolan, Sr. and Genivie Raltler-Smith; 
six brothers, Nolan, Jr., Gilbert (Dickie), Robert Lee, Claude, Willie and 
Lamone Smith; five sisters, Shirley, Joyce, Corriane and Mary Ann Smith, and 
Beverly Williams; and one granddaughter, Kendra Smith.

Jones Funeral Home of Houma in charge of arrangements.
