Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1308.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Maurice Blanco, 74, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Maurice was a commercial fisherman and a businessman. The owner of Blanco's Seafood and Danny's Fried Chicken of Amelia, he loved the outdoors whether it was hunting, trapping, fishing or just a boat ride. He made the most of his time enjoying nature. Maurice was a confident and decisive man, good at everything he did. If he put his mind to it, it was as good as done. Maurice was also a very protective man, proud of his family; he worked endlessly to provide every opportunity and gave his all to see that they succeeded in life. In his later years, he enjoyed riding his bike making sure to take time to stop and visit everyone he knew. His favorite TV shows were Westerns, Duck Dynasty and Swamp People. Maurice was an excellent pool shooter and a member of Bass Masters. Maurice leaves to cherish his memories his dedicated wife, Helen Toups Blanco, of Morgan City; his son, Brian Adam Blanco and his wife, Kim, of Lafayette; his two daughters, Crystal Blanco Justice and her husband, Scott, of Morgan City and Sonya Blanco Sponaugle and her husband, Kevin, of Columbus, OH.; his brother, Gerald Blanco and his wife, Rosie, of Springfield, MO.; his sisters, Lola Mae Broussard of, Patterson and Susie Hollier of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Dallas Blanco, Coleton Blanco, Cacie Justice Robichaux , Jonathan Justice, Mallory Routsong, Bryson Routsong , Samuel Routsong, and Courtney Routsong, and two great grandchildren, Charlotte Robichaux and Madeleine Robichaux. Maurice was proceeded in death by his parents, Adam and Nola Blanco. Visitation for Maurice will be Monday, August 12, 2013 from 9am to 11am with a Mass of Christian burial taking place at 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City. Graveside services will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
