BROOKS, JOSEPH, JR.

Joseph Brooks Jr., 87, a native of Calumet and resident of Patterson, died at 
5:25 a.m. Aug. 22 at The Kindred Hospital in Lafayette after a short illness.

Visitation will be observed Saturday at St. Luke Baptist Church in Patterson 
from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church Saturday at 2 
p.m. with the Rev. Keith Verrett officiating.

He is survived by one daughter, pastor Joe Ann Brooks of Abbeville; five 
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, three sisters and five 
brothers.

Otis Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
