All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.shtml ======================================================================= FONTENOT, CURNEY November 11, 1943 — August 24, 2013 Mr. Curney Fontenot, a native of Gueydan and longtime resident of Morgan City, born Nov. 11, 1943, to the late FT and Eula Fontenot, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, in Morgan City at the age of 69. Curney is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Kei Fontenot. Curney also leaves behind to cherish his memories three daughters, April Magana and her husband, Higinio, Paris Renee Sanchez and her husband, Dennis, and Vanessa Rubin and her husband, Christopher. Curney was blessed with seven grandchildren, Timothy Fontenot, Blair Johnson, Randy Megana, Chaille Johnson, Seth Rubin, Luke Rubin and Emily Sanchez; one great-grandchild, Sophie Hebert; and one brother, Wilbert Fontenot. Curney started his career in the United States Air Force after serving his country proudly. He went on to work for Hamer’s Hammers and after five years dedicated his life to helping others and joined the St. Mary Sheriff’s Department. He then went on to join the Morgan City Police Department and served there for 14 years. Curney was an outdoors man at heart and when the opportunity came for him to own his own shrimp boat he then turned his attention to becoming a commercial fisherman, a job he truly loved and pursued until his retirement. In keeping with Curney’s wishes, he will be cremated with private family services at a later date. ===================
