MATTHEWS, JOSEPHINE L. 

Mrs. Josephine L. Matthews, 99, a resident and native of the Four Corners 
Community, died Sunday, August 4, 2013, at 9:10 a.m., at Iberia Medical Center 
following a short illness.

She is survived by one son, Lionel Matthews of Jeanerette; two daughters, Mrs. 
Marjorie McGee and Ms. Mary Matthews, both of Jeanerette; 15 grandchildren; 22 
grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and 
friends.

Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, her 
husband, one son and two great great grandchildren.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at St. 
Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1325 Big Four Corners Road in Jeanerette.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with Father 
Dimas Mauk officiating. 

Interment will follow in the St. Dorothy Cemetery which is located next to the 
St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Big Four Corners Road in Jeanerette.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
