Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1308.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Edward Joseph Mayon Jr., "Pook", 66, a resident of Morgan City, born to the late Edward Mayon Sr. and Clarice Guidry Mayon of Morgan City, passed away at Ochsner Westbank in Gretna with his loved ones by his side, on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Edward spent a majority of his life working offshore as a boat captain. He worked for Milchem, Seacor, and Laborde Marine. During his sparetime he enjoyed woodworking and spoiling all of his nieces and nephews. A person who never met a stranger, Edward would do anything for anybody. Known as a gentle giant, he was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by many. Edward is survived by his loving mother, Clarice Guidry Mayon; his siblings, Sandra Berube and her husband, Richard, Pamela Holt, Mark Mayon Sr. and his wife, Cindy, and Darren Mayon Sr. and his wife, Pam; his many nieces and nephews, Tara Dombroski, Tana Guidry, Angie Granger, Lanetta O'Neal, Leroy Richard Jr., Mark Mayon Jr., Darren Mayon Jr., Derrick Mayon, and Danna Mayon; his many great nieces and nephews, Brett Guidry, Karley Guidry, Miles Dombroski, Brooke Freeman, Cody Richard, Kaitlin O'Neal, Justin O'Neal, Chandler O'Neal, Brandon Granger, Coby Granger, Mark Mayon III, Haley Mayon, Blaze Mayon, Kaden Mayon, Derrick Mayon Jr., Natalie Mayon, Macie Mayon, Tylor Mayon, Camryn Mayon, Brayden Mayon, and Owen Mayon; and one great great nephew, Kohen Freeman and a very special friend, Candy Johnson – Hoekstraw. He joins in heaven his father, Edward Mayon Sr. The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, August 27, 2013, from 9am until time of services at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City with a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11am. Graveside services will follow in the Morgan City Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Leroy Richard Jr., Darren Mayon Jr., Danna Mayon, Mark Mayon Jr., Mark Mayon III, Derrick Mayon, Miles Dombroski, Stan Dombroski, Kenny O'Neal, and Brad Guidry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Edward's name to Holy Cross Catholic Church of Morgan City. ===================
