WEST, OSCAR, SR.

The Rev. Oscar West Sr., 62, a native of Opelousas and resident of Patterson, 
died Sunday at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.

Visitation will be held at St. Luke Baptist Church in Patterson on Thursday 
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Burial rites will be read at the church Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Keith 
Verrette officiating. 

Interment will be in Shields Cemetery in Patterson.

He is survived by four sons, Elder Oscar West Jr. of Patterson, Travis West of 
Breaux Bridge, Isaac Hilliard of Buffalo, N.Y., and Ivory Hilliard Jr. of New 
Orleans; six brothers, Vincent West Jr. of Beaumont, Texas, Calvin West and 
Steven West, both of Opelousas, Molton West of Houston, Eddie West of Sunset 
and Alcide West of Atlanta; and two sisters, Mary Hebert of Ossun and Nedia Mae 
George of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother.

Otis Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
