Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1309.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Merlin "Jammin June" Broussard Jr., 56, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City joined his loving mother in heaven on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 while surrounded by his loving family. Jammin June lived his life loving the people around him. A well-known individual in the community, everyone knew June for the soft hearted person he was. A great cook, everyone knew that on Sunday a visit to his wharf in Stephensville was where to go for the best food around. Always at the world famous Blowout, Jammin June would sing along with his son, Rockin Josh, Swamp Pop to anyone who wanted to have a good time. It was well known that on Jammin June's birthday, presents were mandatory all month long. A skilled carpenter, Jammin June hand built his own home and remodeled many others. His work lives on in the beautiful work he created throughout South Louisiana. Jammin June was the best son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, Parrain, and most importantly friend. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Jammin June is survived by his father, Merlin Broussard Sr. and his wife, Dorothy; his paternal grandmother, Amelie Broussard; his son, music partner, and best friend, Josh Broussard; his two beloved grandbabies; his sister, Cheryl Katsura and her husband, Wayne; his brother, Terry Broussard and his wife, Tina; his niece/godchild/sister/personal secretary/nurse, Michelle Broussard Arnold and her husband, Jamie; numerous aunts and uncles; his nieces and nephews, Miko Katsura and her fiancé, Sidney Henry, Bray Katsura and his wife, Brittany, and Terri Jean Sons and her husband, Benji; and his great nieces and nephews, Preslie, Cody, Lauren, Madison, and Zack; and survived by his previous wife, Darlene Broussard. Truthfully, Jammin June had such a large extended family that it would be impossible to list each and every one. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Percle Broussard; his paternal grandfather, Louis Broussard; his maternal grandfather, Rudolph Percle; and his maternal grandmother, Lorena Percle. Jammin June's last public appearance will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 5pm to 9pm with dismissal at 9pm. In keeping with Jammin June's wishes, a private service will be held at a later date. The family of Jammin June would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Angela Jameson and her husband, Joe, Lemina White, Floyd Ayo, and three special friends, Robert Sampey Sr., David Triche, and Don Rich; as well as all his musician friends, fans, and many close friends who've given assistance during his illness. ===================
