Herman Carven, 65, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died Friday, 
September 6, 2013 at 8:33 p.m.

Visitation will be from 8 until funeral time at Dularge Community Baptist 
Church on Saturday. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on September 14, 2013. 

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn Sims-Carven; his mother, Pearl Carven-
Nixon; four sons, Hermon, Jr., Lamont, Pablo, and Courtney Nixon; seven 
daughters, Tiffany, Tyna, Carmen, Passion and LaSylvia Nixon, Joy Allen, and 
Keonna Causey; two brothers, Wesley and Christopher Nixon; four sisters, Rosa 
and Joyce Williams, Alice White and Deloris Holiday; thirty grandchildren and 
eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Wesley Nixon; and two sisters, Ellen 
Jones and Jerrylee Price.

Jones Funeral Home of Houma in charge of arrangements.
