Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1309.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Memorial services will be held Friday, September 6, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Lucien "LJ" Charpentier, 84, a native of Franklin and longtime resident of Charenton, who passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at his home with his family by his side. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the service. LJ was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served four years in the Navy Seabees during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an electrician for 37 years, working first for E. P. Breaux and then for CLECO, which he retired from in 1989. He loved fishing, hunting, football, and his puppy, Bella. The family would like to thank our loving neighbors and friends for their love and support. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Florence Guillot Charpentier of Charenton; three children, Dona Charpentier of Baldwin, Michael Charpentier of Franklin, and Chad Charpentier and his wife Jeanne of Baldwin; three grandchildren, Kayla Charpentier of Quitman, TX, Petty Officer 2nd Class Cody J. Charpentier (serving in Japan), and SN Kyle Charpentier and his wife Anna of Monterey, CA; three step-grandchildren, (Jeanne's children) Alan, Jodie, and Jamie and seven step-great grandchildren; one brother, Clifton Charpentier and his wife Joland of Charenton; one sister, Rose Castille and her husband Ellis of Loreauville; three nephews, James, Harry, and Dean Charpentier; and two nieces, Belinda Lucas and Patricia Guerrette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Charpentier and Martha Simoneaux Charpentier; his stepmother, Rose Broussard; and his brother, Clarence Charpentier and his wife Marie. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at Ibert's Mortuary from 8:00 AM until time of rosary and memorial service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Heart of Hospice, 201 West Vermilion St., Suite 100, Lafayette, LA Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA ===================
