Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1309.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, September 6, 2013, at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption for Mrs. Goldie Adams Chauvin, 94, a native of Patterson and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away early Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013, at her home with her family by her side. Inurnment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. Mrs. Goldie received her RN at Hotel Dieu in New Orleans in the late 1930's. She then went on to work in the St. Mary Parish Public Health System and for Franklin Foundation Hospital. She also helped take care of many family and friends in the home during illnesses. Survivors include her daughters, Sylvia Chauvin Borne of Franklin, and Susan Chauvin Ockman and Janie Adams Chauvin, both of Bourg; her daughter-in-law, Sue LeBlanc Chauvin of Baldwin; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Viley Joseph Chauvin, Jr.; her son, Viley Joseph Chauvin, III; her parents, Evest and Edley Robicheaux Adams; and her brothers, Edgar and E.A. (Chick) Adams; her sisters, Millie Mundt, Jeanne Senette Mundt, and Marian Naquin; and two sons-in-law, Allen Borne and Milton Ockman. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at the Church of the Assumption from 11:00 AM until time of Mass at 1:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 12:30 PM followed by the eulogy. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in Mrs. Goldie's memory to Heart of Hospice - South Louisiana, 14777 Highway 90 West Frontage Road, Franklin, LA.
