She was a native of Belle River and resident of Pierre Part. She was a homemaker, an LPN, and a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Violet leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and sons-in-law, Monica and Martin Sevin, Melissa and Tralles Rhodes, and Stacy and Dan Subik; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Sandra Crochet, David and Nancy Crochet, and Jacob and Jane Crochet; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Settoon; and a brother, Rodney Perera. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, James and Philomene Perera; first husband, Laurie Crochet; second husband, Alger “Jay” Crochet; a son, James Crochet; and a brother, Laury Perera. Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Entombment followed at the church mausoleum. Pallbearers were Byron Sevin, Brett Sevin, Adam Rhodes, Timothy Crochet, Micah Crochet, Tommy Crochet, Deric Breaux, and Dan Subik. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, the staff at Morgan City Health Care Center and Journey Hospice. ===================
