Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1309.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Myette Point Baptist Church in Franklin for Mrs. Amanda Sauce Mayon, 67, a native of Franklin and a longtime resident of Charenton, who passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 2:18 PM at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. She will be laid to rest in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Charenton. Rev. Joseph Sauce will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Bert Mayon, Randy Mayon, Devin Mayon, Carlton Sauce, Joey Tabb, and Howard Tabb, Jr. Mrs. Amanda loved cooking, which was enjoyed by many in her community and church family. She enjoyed socializing with friends over coffee and spending time with her grandkids. She also loved gospel music, which she would often play on her harmonica and accordion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include two sons, Egbert (Bert) Mayon Jr. and Randy Mayon, both of Charenton; one daughter, Paula M. Doré of Jeanerette; two grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Romero of Jeanerette, and Devin James Mayon of New Iberia; two great grandchildren, Gabriel Romero and Lilliann Romero; one brother, Joseph Sauce and his wife Florence of Franklin; four sisters, Marie Henson of Charenton, Sandra Tabb and her husband Howard of Baldwin, Kathy Stroud and her husband Garland of Centerville, and Faith Broussard and her husband Alton (Buffa) of Verdunville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Egbert Mayon, Sr.; one grandson, Timmie Doré, Jr.; one granddaughter, Monique Nicole Doré; her parents, Joseph Sauce, Sr. and Elmire Daigle Sauce; and an infant brother, Earl Sauce. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Myette Point Baptist Church from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and again Wednesday from 7:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family to assist with her medical expenses.
