Dorothy Jean “Dottie” Thorton, 65, a native of Dell, Ark., resident of 
Rochester, N.Y., and long-time resident of Morgan City, died from cancer 
Wednesday.

Survivors include a son, Greg Scrabacic of Rochester, N.Y.; her mother, Lee 
McMinn of Ricohoc; five sisters, Faye Friar of Morgan City, Nellie Spell of 
Buena, Texas, Bonnie Hatley of Blytheville, Ark., Peggy Moore of Cuthbert, Ga., 
and Wanda Gibson of Comanchee, Texas; and five brothers, Jody McMinn and John 
McMinn, both of Ricohoc, Sonnie Hatley of Blytheville, Ark., and Butch Hatley 
and Larry Hatley, both of Comanchee, Texas.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and her father.

There will be no funeral arrangements. She donated her body to science.
