Graveside services for Mr. Melvin Ashley, 68, of Olla, formerly of Berwick, 
will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, 

Graveside services at Shady Grove Cemetery in Sikes 
with the Rev. Betsy Honeycutt officiating.

Mr. Ashley was born on Nov. 6, 1944, in Centerville, to the union of his 
parents the late Steven Persilver Ashley and the late Ella Sauce Ashley, and 
passed from this life on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Glenwood Regional Medical 
Center in West Monroe. He worked as a  boat captain and attended Oasis Full 
Gospel Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Geraldine Crochet 
Ashley of Olla; son, Darren Ashley and wife, Tammy, of Morgan City; daughter, 
Melissa Ashley Eubanks and husband, Larry, of Olla; sister, Regina Hamilton and 
husband, Kenneth, of Bayou L’Ourse; four grandchildren, Joshua Ashley (Katie), 
Daniel Eubanks, Emily Eubanks Emfinger (Casey) and Kaylin Ashley Richard 
(Lucas); two great-grandchildren, Blaze Ashley and Gunner Luke Emfinger; and 
two special friends, Justin Cavallier and Sidney Concieno.

Pallbearers will be Darren Ashley, Larry Eubanks, Daniel Eubanks, Joshua 
Ashley, Lucas Richard and Casey Emfinger.
