Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1310.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, October 14, 2013, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville for Sgt. Brett J. Lange, 48, a native and lifelong resident of Centerville, who passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 10, 2013, in Houma. He will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers and providing special honors at the gravesite will be the Louisiana State Police Honor Guard. Father Joshua Rodrigue, S.T.L., of the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales in Houma, will officiate the services. Brett enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and spent his entire career in Law Enforcement. In his early years he was a volunteer fireman, a police officer with the Franklin Police Department, and then moved on to the St. Mary Parish Sherriff's Office, until joining the Louisiana State Police, where he has worked for the past 23 years, first with Troop C and currently with LSP Bureau of Investigation, Criminal Investigations Div. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Paula Guillot Lange; two sons, Barrette and Brady Lange; his parents, Carlin and Shirley Wiese Lange; three brothers, Bart Lange and his wife Loraine, Mark Lange and his wife Roxanne, and Mike Lange and his wife Wendy; his parents-in-law, Emmanuel and Mercedes Guillot; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville at 9:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Louisiana Troopers Charities. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA ===================
