Richard D. Martin, age 78, a resident of Morgan City, La., and a native of 
Gibson, La., died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Thibodaux Regional Medical 
Center at 12:42 PM.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 
113 Federal Ave., Morgan City, La., from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 
AM. 

Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories; eight daughters, Shelia Ann Martin and 
Bertha (Freddie) Bougeare both of Gibson, La., Kathleen (Robert) Diggs of 
Houma, La., Anita Mouton of New Orleans, La., Gertie (Joseph) Ross and Alida 
Martin (Nathaniel) Clark both of Patterson, La., Katherine (Clarence) Granger 
of Gray, La., Angela (David) Banks of Houston, TX; one brother, George (Mary) 
Bogen of Gibson, La., and one sister, Willie Mae Gibson of Gibson, La; three 
stepchildren, Ray Pellerin of Centerville, La., Ronald Brashear of Morgan City, 
La., and Lillian; eighteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host 
of relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard David Martin, Sr., and 
his mother, Gertrude Brown Martin Bogen, three sisters, Cora Lee Bogen, Estelle 
Martin Wiggins and Annie Mae Martin; two brothers, Joseph David Martin and 
Daniel Martin.
