James Leonard "Bo Diddly" Sims, 68, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died 
Friday, October 18, 2013 at 3:45 p.m.

Visitation will be at Magnolia United Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. until 
funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013. 

Burial will follow in Blue Lily Cemetery.

He is survived by: his wife, Freddie Mae Poindexter-Sims; son, James L. Sims, 
Jr. and wife, Sylvia; daughter, Eve Marie Duncan and husband Austin; four 
brothers, Delbert, Clinton, Sydney and Kevin Smith; nine sisters, Barbara 
Baker, Mildred McGee, Denice and Stephanie Washington, Rebecca Southall, Louise 
Ellis, Karen, Jolene, and Resepta Smith; five grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Dallas Sims and Louise McGee; 
grandmothers, Pinkey Rounds and Ada Harrold; one brother, Robert McGee; and 
brother-in-law, Raymond Ellis.

Jones Funeral Home of Houma in charge of arrangements.
