A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Monsignor Robert Romero, celebrant. James worked in the oilfield for over 30 years and then he was the owner and operator of Qwik Shop in Berwick and Neighborhood Grocery in Lawtell. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved working in his garden but most of all he loved his family, especially his wife, Norma M. Vidrine of Lawtell; his three children, Darrel Vidrine and wife, Diana, of Stafford, Va., Karl Vidrine of Salt Lake City, and Sylvia Hollier and husband, Wilton Jr., of Bayou Vista; and three stepdaughters, Sandra Chiasson and husband, Leroy, and Debra Hall and husband, Kenneth, all of Lafayette, and Pat Fontenot and husband, Benjamin, of Alexandria. He was a loving and wonderful grandfather to nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are three sisters, Murris Dupre and Shirley Olivier and husband, Sam, all of Eunice, and Barbara Brignac and husband, Norman, of Jeanerette, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He now rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Schurley and Agnes Sebastien Vidrine; his first wife, Adeline Trahan Vidrine; a son, Patrick Vidrine; four sisters, Dorothy Thibodeaux, Wanda Broussard, Wilma McMillian and Betty Doucet; and three brothers, Alvin, Gerald and Bobby Vidrine. At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again Thursday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. until the time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a rosary at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Eunice ===================
