Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1310.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 1:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church in Franklin for Betty Lou Bobbitt Vilcan, 73, a native of Newton, TX and a resident of Charenton, who passed away Monday, October 07, 2013, at 7:57 AM at Franklin Foundation Hospital. She will be laid to rest in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stevie Vilcan, Jeremy Vilcan, Brent Burgess, Johnny Bobbitt, Rodney Bobbitt, and George Bobbitt. Pastor Greg Coy and Bishop B. D. Purifoy will officiate the services. Betty was a strong, God loving woman, who believed faith could over come anything. She loved her children, her family and her church unconditionally. She was the backbone that kept her family together, enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone who was in need, and considered no one a stranger. She also enjoyed reading short stories, cooking, and laughing whole heartily. Survivors include five children, Stevie Vilcan, Rachel Vilcan, Jeremy Vilcan, Gwen Chenevert, and Kent Levie; three siblings, Avis Atkins, Johnny Bobbitt, and Syble Concienne; 11 grandchildren, Schuylar, Ashton, Toni, Victoria, Ethan, Nathan, Christi, Brittney, Hal, Kaitlyn, and Lance; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Archie Vincent Vilcan, Jr. and Jimmy Ashley; a granddaughter, Breyonna Monay Vilcan; her parents, J. B. Bobbitt and Pearlie Mae Fullen Bobbitt; and two brothers, Londell Bobbitt and William Winferd Bobbitt. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at the First Pentecostal Church from 10:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM.
