Pete's love for helping people brought him into law enforcement for over 30 years with the Morgan City Police Dept and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff Dept. While he was with the sheriff's office he served as a public relations liaison and a marine patrol officer. Pete was also the first animal control warden for the Morgan City Police Dept. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Pete also served his country for six years in the US Navy and was a proud veteran and member of the VFW in Pierre Part. A couple of his greatest hobbies were spending time at his camp fishing and shrimping whenever he had the chance. Pete enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends telling jokes and entertaining them even when it meant playing the accordion and harmonica. Pete never met a stranger and could make friends instantly. Because Pete was so loved and like by many he will be deeply missed. "Pete we love you and we will never forget you." Pete is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores B. Dallas of Belle River; four children: Danielle and Drew Sparks both of Belle River, Mitch Ringer and Michelle Collins both of Ogallala, Nebraska; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two nieces: Marjorie Soumeillan Taylor and Marie Lynn Soumeillan Olmos; two nephews: Richard Giroir Jr and Raymond Soumeillan Jr.; two brothers: Tony and Johnny Dallas along with numerous great nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, John Dallas and Clara LeBlanc Mills; two sisters: Jennie Marie Soumeillan and a baby sister; three brothers: Danny Mills, Louis Mills and Christopher Dallas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 6pm until 9pm and will resume on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the funeral home beginning 9am until time of service at 1pm. Pete will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with full military honors provided by The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad. ===================
