Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1311.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Eva Rita LeBlanc Sons, 79, a resident of Morgan City, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born July 16, 1934, in Morgan City, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lelia Louviere LeBlanc. On January 31, 1950, she married the love of her life, the late Wallace J. Sons, Sr. and, they celebrated fifty love-filled years of marriage prior to his death in 2000. Visitation will be at Hargrave Funeral Home Monday November 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. resuming Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Services will be at 1 p.m. officiated by Reverend Christopher Steele of Baton Rouge. Eva will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Mrs. Sons was an active member of First Baptist Church in Morgan City for over 40 years. She ministered to many families in the community through her work in the church nursery. Nothing brought a smile to her face like a baby resting in her arms. She also enjoyed participating in the "Road Runners" and "Golden Angels" ministries. In her spare time, she would spend hours creating beautiful crocheted and embroidered quilts for her family and friends. She is survived by one two sons Wallace J. Sons Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Houma; and James G. Mitchell, of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Virginia Elliott and her husband, John, of Morgan City, Gwendolyn Elliott of Morgan City, and Donna Harrison and her husband, Leland, of Patterson; one sister, Mable LaCoste and her husband, Burlin, of Berwick; six grandchildren, Glen Elliott and his wife, Loretta, of Bayou Vista, James Sons, and his wife, Debra, of Patterson, Walter Sons and companion, Jasmine, of Houma, Mary Bracamontes, and her husband, Ronald of Berwick, Leland W. Harrison and his wife, Erin, of Morgan City, and Chancleyn Kelly and her husband, Blaine, of Morgan City; 13 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and her loving dog, Cursa. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace J. Sons Sr.; her daughter, Jane Marie Dorsey; her parents, Arthur and Lelia Louviere LeBlanc; her son-in- law, Charles E. Elliott; two grandchildren, John Elliott Jr. and Jason Paul Sons; four brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers include Wallace J. Sons, Jr., Glen Elliott, James J. Sons, Walter J. Sons, Leland W. Harrison, John R. Elliott, Ronald Bracamontes, Blaine Kelly, Daniel Elliott, and Camren Elliott. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Wood and Darrell Oneal.
