Ibry’s smile lit up any room that he entered. He was known as a kind and generous hearted man to his family and friends who loved him. Ibry was also a professor of literature at LSU, Nicholls, Southern and the University of Little Rock. He enjoyed attending the theater, art shows and traveling whenever his schedule permitted. Ibry retired with D.H.H and was instrumental in writing some of the laws for that department. Before Ibry’s passing, he set up a scholarship fund in memory of his parents with Nicholls State University for Acadian born recipients who need help attending college. Ibry was very special to all who knew him and will be sorely missed. Ibry is survived by his very close cousin, Brenda Crappell and her husband, Wade of Morgan City; three aunts: Ida Falgout and her husband, Roland of Morgan City, Doris Bertrand of Morgan City and Marlyn Bertrand of Bayou Vista along with numerous cousins. Ibry was preceded in death by his parents, Ibry F. and Anaise Theriot; grandparents: Edith and Isaac Bertrand and the Theriots. A Memorial Mass will take place on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church beginning with a visitation at 9am until time of mass at 10am.
