Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2013/sm1312.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services to celebrate the life of Harold Thomas "Tommy" Burton, Jr., will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Burton Landry, Barry Landry, Toby Landry, Blake Johnson, Matthew Landry, Peyton Landry, B.J. Johnson, and Kenny Broussard. Tommy, who passed away at the age of 70 on Monday morning, December 23, 2013, at his home in Franklin, was a loving brother and uncle who was also a father- figure to his nephews and niece, as well as Paw Paw to his great nieces and nephews. He was a generous, unselfish and giving man, ready to help anyone in need. Many will remember Tommy from Himel Motor Supply, where he dedicated over 50 years of faithful service. He also had a vast knowledge of the automotive and mechanic industry and was willing to take the time to help many people with questions about what part was needed, how to solve a particular auto problem, or even to open the store after hours or on a Sunday for someone in need of a part. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his sister, Sylvia Burton Landry of Franklin; three nephews, Burton Landry and his wife Lucy of Baton Rouge, Barry Landry of Austin, TX, Toby Landry and his wife Kathy of Franklin; one niece, Pam Landry Johnson and her husband Blake of Franklin; great nieces and nephews, Matthew Landry of Perth, Australia, Alison Landry of Washington, DC, Martha Landry of Baton Rouge, Peyton and Ashton Landry, B.J., Maggie, and Noel Johnson, all of Franklin; and his beloved pet dog, Due Due. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Thomas Burton, Sr. and Aline Rodriguez Burton; and his brother-in-law, R. L. Landry, RPH. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to his loving caregivers, Sophie Willis, Sarah Gilbeaux, Darnelle Mitchel, Chiquitta Lumpkin, Trinity Coleman, Judy Pellerin, and Angela Carter, as well as to Dr. James B. Falterman, Jr. and staff, Dr. Clyde R. Roy, II and staff, Dr. C.T. Stirling and Lisa Hebert, and the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for the compassion and loving care given to Tommy.
