Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 7:00 PM at 
Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Ivy May, Jr., with a gathering of family 
and friends beginning at 5:00 PM. Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate the 
service.

Ivy was a native of Gilbert, LA and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed 
away at the age of 86 on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at his home. He was a 
veteran of the United States Army. His passions in live were fishing, working 
in his yard, helping his neighbors, and spending time with his grandchildren 
and family.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Doucet May; four children, Brenda 
M. Latiolais and her husband Curtis, Edwin May and his wife Mary, Sandra M. 
McLean, and Gary May; one brother, Charles E. May and his wife Bonnie; one 
sister, Cecile M. Barkley and her husband Charles; five grandchildren; and six 
great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy May, Sr. and Almeda Ball May; two 
brothers, Cecil Mike May and Robert Gayle May; and one sister, Pauline M. 
Smith.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Mr. Ivy's name 
to Heart of Hospice - South Louisiana, 14777 Highway 90 West Frontage Road, 
Franklin, LA.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Heart 
of Hospice - South Louisiana, especially Doug Breaux, Stephanie Bailey, and 
Ellinor Washington, for the loving and compassionate care given to Mr. Ivy in 
his final days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
