Wed, 2013-12-11 10:43 Roger Stouff “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Rosalie F. Moore, made the most important journey of her life on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 when she passed from this life to the next to await the Messianic Banquet. A Funeral Ceremony will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Rosalie Fletcher Moore. Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Spiritual services will be conducted by Pastor Tom Lambert of Community Baptist Church in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette. Rosalie was born September 15, 1918 in Jennings. She was an ardent disciple of the Lord, teaching Bible and Sunday School for many years. She graduated from USL in Lafayette with a master’s degree in education. Rosalie was a dedicated teacher in St. Mary and Lafayette parishes for many years. She affectionately referred to herself as an “old retired school teacher.” She touched the lives of thousands of students throughout her career. Ms. Moore is survived by three children, a daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” M. Mouton of Carencro; two sons, John “Johnny” F. Moore and Jeffery “Jeff” R. Moore and his wife, Irene, both of Lafayette; four grandchildren, John Scott Moore, Edward “Eddie” P. Bollich III, Jared M. Moore and Christopher C. Moore and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Bell Moore; a son, James Craig Moore; a granddaughter, Dawn Michelle Moore-Ingram; her parents, Griffin and Eliza Fletcher; and the most important person in her life, Marion “Mano” Fletcher (stepmother), who raised and guided her after her natural mother died when Rosalie was just one month old. Pallbearers will be Deacons John Keller, Paul Davis, Jim Turner, Jody Miller, Ben Clark and Fred Saucier. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kenneth McCarron, Heart of Hospice and Concepts of Care for the compassionate care given to Rosalie and her family. In lieu of flowers that wither like grass, any memorial donations should be made in Rosalie’s name to a ministry that actively serves Christians.
