Dave R. Thomas, 74, a lifelong resident of Berwick born August 29, 1939, passed 
away with his family by his side on December 22, 2013 after a long and hard 
fought battle with cancer.

Dave was a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he proudly served his 
country from 1957 to 1961. During his four year enlistment, Dave was stationed 
in Hawaii, the Marshall Islands, and Charleston South Carolina.

Dave was a member and past Master of Lafayette Lodge 87, Free & Accepted 
Masons, Patterson Louisiana and he was on the Board of Directors of the Citrus 
Land Company. Dave enjoyed wood working and fishing alligators, two of his 
favorite hobbies.

After being employed by various companies over the years, he retired from the 
Town of Berwick as the Town Clerk and Chief Administrative Officer in 2001. 
During this time with the town, he served on various boards which included the 
Berwick Development District, Wards 5 & 8 Regional Sewer, and the Berwick 
Housing Authority.

He is survived by his wife of forty one years, Patricia Michel Thomas, his 
children Ronald J. Thomas, wife Sheila of Chesapeake, Virginia; Frances Thomas 
of Punta Gorda, Florida; Robin Battle, husband Rickey of New Port News, 
Virginia; Mark Thomas of Hampton, Virginia; Kelly S. LeBlanc, husband Jeff of 
Prarieville, Louisiana; Shannon Distefano, husband Marc of Morgan City, 
Louisiana; and two step children, Marion Jett, husband Jeff of Lake Charles, 
Louisiana and Charlie Autrey, wife Jacquline of Bossier City, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave Thomas Jr. and Elizabeth Moore 
Thomas; and one wife, Linda Sue Autrey, and one step child, Angie Gonzales

He has been blessed with 16 grand children and 3 great grand children.
A time of remembrance and refection will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home 
Thursday December 26, 2013 from 5 PM Until 8 PM. A Celebration of Dave's life 
will begin at 8 PM with services conducted by Monsignor Douglas Courville and 
refection of a life well lived by close friends and relatives. A private family 
dismissal will follow.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Berwick High 
School Softball Team, 700 Pattie Drive, Berwick, Louisiana 70342. All donations 
gratefully accepted and acknowledged.
