Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1401.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 20, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Juanita Abshire Benoit, 84, a native of Port Acres, TX and a longtime resident of Baldwin, who passed away peacefully Thursday, January 16, 2014, at her home with her family at her side. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM at the church, with the rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM, followed by the eulogy. She will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Servings as pallbearers will be Louis Benoit III, Chad Martin, Michael Vice, Terry Abshire, Harry (Pino') Hebert, Donnie Chauvin, and Reggie Case. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services. Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved gardening and collecting bird figurines. Her passion in life was all of her grandchildren. She was also a faithful member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Survivors include five children, Julia Martin and her husband Kippy of Centerville, Gwen Vice and her husband Steve of Baldwin, Paulette Chauvin and her husband Donnie of Franklin, Tamie Gunn and her husband Tom of Orange, TX, and Louis Benoit II and his wife Regina of Baldwin; one sister, Edith Romero of New Iberia; one sister-in-law, Marie Abshire of Buna, TX; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Benoit I; three children, Roberta Dartez Hebert, Robert Dartez, Jr., and Margaret Dartez Lachney; three great grandchildren, Casey Martin, Alexis Hebert, and Tad Hebert; her parents, Lodias P. Abshire and L'Nola Marie Breaux Abshire; two siblings, Nathan Abshire and L. J. Abshire. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA ===================
