Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1401.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Sylvester Lee "Snookem" Cox, 74, a resident of Patterson passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Sylvester was born on August 26, 1939 in Mangham, Louisiana the son of Vester and Viola Nugent Cox. You could always find Sylvester in the outdoors tending to his garden. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved playing dominos. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Carolyn Rink Cox of Patterson; four children, Mavis Carter and husband Brian of Morgan City, John Cox and wife Julie of Amelia, Steven Cox and wife Emily of Charleston, South Carolina, Virgie Cox and fiancé Steven Farison of Berwick; two nieces, Penny Driskill of Crestview, Florida and Wendy Lodrigue of Patterson. Sylvester is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four brothers; six sisters. Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Sylvester will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
