Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1401.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Oraliene, born in Franklin, but a resident of Morgan City for the past 70 years passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at her home while surrounded by her family. Oraliene was born on Jan 6, 1925 to Robert and Annie Arceneaux Boudreaux. Oraliene began her nursing career with Dr. Horton of Franklin. She helped in the office, nursing duties and also made house calls with him. She assisted him in many home deliveries, as well as home health care for shut-ins. Later upon moving to Morgan City, she worked in the first Morgan City Hospital on Front St., Lakewood Hospital, followed by Teche Regional. She also worked many years for Dr. Askew and Gadow in their beginning years in Morgan City. Upon retiring from active nursing, she continued caring for many home bound elderly. Nursing and caring for the sick was a great love in her life, second only to her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Thomas Songe and Carolyn Thomas Smith; one son-in-law, Martin Songe; five grandchildren, John R. Parker, First Sergeant Paul J. Parker, Stephanie Smith, Gregory Smith, and Christopher Smith; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Oraliene was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annie Arceneaux Boudreaux; her siblings, Annie Mae Boudreaux Suppan, Robert Boudreaux Jr., and Alice Boudreaux Bodin. She was also preceded in death by Albert Blanco, Russell "Ted" Thomas, Alcide "Champ" Champagne, and Victor "Jake" Daigle. The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 10am until time of services at Hargrave Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Oraliene will take place Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2pm at Hargrave Funeral Home with Deacon Dragna officiating. Interment will take place in the Morgan City Cemetery at the Champagne Tomb.
