A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 11:00 AM 
at Immaculate Conception Church in Charenton for Mrs. Regena Blanchard 
Frederick, with a gathering of family and friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 
9:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation 
will continue Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church at 9:00 AM. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Melancon, Joshua Frederick, Matthew Rupple, 
Glenn Blanchard, Waylen Frederick, Jr., and Blake Marcotte. Honorary 
pallbearers will be Antoine Blanchard, Ambrose Blanchard, Raymond Frederick, 
and Wayne Melancon. 

She will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum. 
Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services.

Mrs. Regena was a native of St. Martinville and a resident of Charenton. She 
was a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Charenton, where 
she served for many years as a Trustee, Eucharistic Minister, as well as a 
Religion Teacher for over 40 years. She was 88.

Survivors include four children, Waylen Joseph Frederick and his wife June, 
Shirleen Marie Melancon and her husband Wayne, Randall Joseph Frederick and his 
wife Jeanie, and David James Frederick and his wife Debra Jean; two brothers, 
Antoine Blanchard and Ambrose Blanchard and his wife Mary Ann; six sisters, 
Rita Charpentier, Lena Mae Businelle, Lucy Marcotte, Beatrice Judice and her 
husband Lee, Emily Blanchard, and Irene Blanco; two brothers-in-law, Raymond 
Frederick and Ted Mire; nine grandchildren, Waylen Jr., Kimberly, Joshua, Dana, 
Matthew, Chad, Melissa, Samantha, and Katrina; step-grandchildren, Jeannie and 
Johnnie; numerous great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; as well as 
numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarest J. Frederick; one son, 
Kenneth Lee Frederick; her father, Rene Blanchard; her mother, Anita Gaudet 
Blanchard; three brothers, Abel, Elton, and Francis Blanchard; one sister, 
Marie Ann Blanchard; five brothers-in-law, Raymond Charpentier, Rodney 
Businelle, Ernest Blanco, Elmer Marcotte, and Clarence Frederick; and four 
sisters-in-law, Ruby Stroud Blanchard, Barbara Perez Blanchard, Sue Frederick, 
and Marie Frederick.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Mrs. 
Regena's name to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Maintenance Fund, PO 
Box 278, Charenton, LA 70523.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, 
Franklin, LA
