Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1401.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Lafayette for Mr. Louis "L.A." Howard, 86, a WWII Navy Veteran, native of Morgan City, and resident of Franklin for the past 11 years, who passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side. A gathering will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until time of rosary at 9:45 AM, follow by the Mass. Inurnment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Father Michael Russo will officiate the services. Survivors include his wife of eleven years, Marie Delcambre Howard; one sister, Bonnie Watkins; two step children, Joni Touchet and her husband Craig and Keely Mayer and her husband Craig; four step grandchildren, Ryan Touchet and his wife Angel, Fallon Touchet, Courtney Mayer and his wife Marla, and Coby Mayer; five step great grandchildren, Kayle, Brock, Madison, Camden, and Brant. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Annie Hiatt Howard; his parents, William and Sadie Stroud Howard; one brother, Chester Howard; and two sisters, Minnie Lasseigne and Nita Jolet. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the American Legion Post 365, PO Box 465, Lydia, LA 70569.
