Mr. Herbert Davis, 66, a resident and native of Franklin, died Wednesday, 
February 5, 2014, at his residence following a short illness.

He is survived by five brothers, Arthur Davis Jr. and Isiah Davis Sr., both of 
Houston, Texas; Dr. Albert Davis, Elder Melvin Davis, both of Charlotte, North 
Carolina; and Alvin Davis of Miami, Florida; five sisters, Irma D. Mitchell, 
Mary D. Francis and Juanita D. Mitchell, all of Franklin; Helen D. McDaniel of 
Dallas, Texas, and Estelle S. Howell of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Visitations will be observed Friday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at St. 
Stephen Baptist Church.
Burial rites will be read Friday, at 12 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. 
Deandre Johnson officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Golden Queen Cemetery in Centerville.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
