Guidry, Sr., 80, a native of Elton, a past resident of Patterson, and a resident of Verdunville passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at his residence. J.D. leaves to cherish his memories his wife of two years, Leola H. Loftin Guidry; four sons, James D. Guidry Jr. and his wife, Annette, Ricky A. Guidry and his wife, Joanie, Gary Guidry and his wife, Phyllis, and Gerald W. Loftin Jr. and his wife, Michelle; three daughters, Patricia G. Boyles and her husband, Gregory, Jennifer G. Mayon and her husband, Kirk, and Cheryl Torres and her husband, Robert; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dolza Guidry; his mother, Marion Manuel Guidry; his first wife of 59 years, Anna Lois Fontenot Guidry; two brothers, Wiley Guidry, and Melvin Guidry; one sister, Rose Guidry. J.D. was a generous and kind person. A business man, he was self-employed for most his life as the owner of J.D.'s Auto Salvage. He was a talented gardener who enjoyed hunting and fishing. J.D. was a board member and faithful member of New Life Tabernacle. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, February 10th from 6pm to 9pm at New Life Tabernacle in Morgan City. Visitation will resume Tuesday, February 11th at 9am until time of services at 11am at New Life Tabernacle. J.D. will be laid to rest in the Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery in Patterson. ===================
