Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1402.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Joe, a native of Abbeville and a resident of Patterson, passed away at his residence on February 24, 2014 at the age of 68. Joe was a loving father and grandfather. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and was so proud of the fruits and vegetables he grew. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He was a loyal employee of McDermott as a Senior welder for over 30 years. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army where he honorably served in Berlin, Germany after completing training at F. Company 40th Armor Brigade as an M47/M48/M60 Tanker. SGT William Joseph Lege' was Honorably Discharged from service on 25 Feb 1971. It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived. George S. Patton Joe is survived by two daughters Telesia Sobol and her husband, Matthew; Hunnette Hastings and her husband Bob; four grandchildren Brennan Sobol, Abigail Hastings, Sophia Hastings, and Silas Hastings; three sisters Ouida Roy, Anna Ruth Stelly and her husband, Ray, Minnie Jaet and her husband, George along with several nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents; Adimar Lege' and Marie Romero Lege'; parent's Milton Lege' and Mary Brown Lege'; brother Charles Lege', and sister Naomi Lege'. Joe's life will be remembered with a Memorial service Saturday, February March 1, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home, with The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad conducting Full Military Honors at 5:00 pm, followed by a service of Remembrance.
