Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1403.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Roy Eugene Hubert Burgess, 44, a resident of Carencro and former resident of Morgan City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, while on a business trip to Accra, Ghana. Roy was born in Roermond, The Netherlands, on Nov. 1, 1969. Roy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Nicole Comeaux Burgess; his daughter, Alysse; stepson Christain Bourque; his parents, Marga and Danny Burgess; a brother, Wesley; father-in-law, Benny Comeaux; brother-in-law, Danny and Jody; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, friends and colleagues. Roy completed his high school education at Morgan City High School, graduating with the class of 1988. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a communications specialist. Upon receiving an honorable discharge in 1996, he then attended Young Memorial Technical School where he received an associateÕs degree in communications electronics. He was a loyal employee of ITC Global, previously Petrocom/Broadpoint LLC for the last 18 years. Roy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Bertille Burgess of Morgan City and Toos and Willem DeWinter of Roermond, The Netherlands; and his mother-in-law, Lynn Comeaux of Scott. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home Saturday, March 15, 2014, beginning from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Memorial services officiated by the Rev. Greg Pratt and life reflections by close friends will begin at 11 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct full military honors at 3 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home RoyÕs memory will live on in all that knew and loved him.
