Chauvin will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Thomas Vu will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert's Mortuary on Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Marcus A. Chauvin, Jarrod Suire, Randy Chauvin, John Sanchez, Jr., Henry "Bud" Mondor III, and Katie Chauvin Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be John "Johnny" Sanchez, Sr. and James Kelly. Barry was a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away at the age of 65 on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 6:07 PM at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Barry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served his country during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, and watching westerns, so much that he should have been born a cowboy. He was also a very active member of the NRA (National Rifle Association). His passion in life though was his family, especially his grandchildren, including the nieces, nephews, and their friends that considered him "Paw-Paw". Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Myrtle "Myrt" Mondor Chauvin; two children, Milissa Chauvin Suire and her husband Jarrod, and Marcus A. Chauvin and his wife Ronda; four grandchildren, Kayla Suire, Jessica Suire, Justin Suire, and Tyler Chauvin; four siblings, Bonnie Rogers, Brenda (his twin) Vallet and her husband Steve, Randy Chauvin and his wife Fran, and Monica Bertrand and her husband Verlon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Chauvin and Pearl Lorio Chauvin; one brother, Chris Chauvin; and two nephews, Shane and Jason Vallet.
