Stella Gautreaux Dalton, a native of Patterson and longtime resident of Morgan 
City, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the age of 92.

Stella passed peacefully in the company of her family. She was preceded in 
death by her husband Eugene Dalton Sr., daughter Cheryl Binkowski, and grandson 
Eugene III.

She is survived by six children: sons Eugene Jr. of Houma; David of Oilville, 
Virginia; and Charles of Morgan City; daughters Catherine Dalton of Blue Ridge, 
Georgia; Patricia LaFleur of Lafayette; and Susan Dalton of Lafayette. She 
leaves behind ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-
great-granddaughter.

Stella enjoyed a lifetime of interests. She was engrossed in genealogy work for 
many years and gathered a large amount of information on her Gautreaux family. 
She wrote a detailed history of her childhood from memory. She enjoyed playing 
the piano for nearly all of her life, and gained great satisfaction working in 
her flower garden.

She will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery 
where there will be a brief graveside ceremony on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 
2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
