Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2014/sm1403.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial for Colleen Morvant Voisin will be celebrated on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Herb Bennerfield will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Voisin, Octave Orgeron, Jr., Chad Orgeron, Justin Voisin, Logan Billiot, and Corey Hilliard. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson beginning at 6:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM, and continuing until 9:00 PM, and again Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of dismissal at 2:30 PM. Colleen was a native and lifelong resident of Patterson who enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing solitaire on the computer, and loved boiled seafood. But her favorite was spending time with her family which she loved immensely. She passed away Monday morning, March 3, 2014, at her daughter's home in Morgan City at the age of 71. Survivors include four children, Donald James Voisin, Jr. of Patterson, Virginia Marie Smith and her husband Troy of Morgan City, Mary Ann Billiot and her husband Elgin of Houma, and Jessica Lynn Farias and her husband Mike of Centerville; one brother, Antoine Morvant Jr. of Abbeville; one sister, Emelda M. Orgeron of Avondale; eight grandchildren, Corey Hilliard, Kayla Ortiz, Brittany Cornell, Destiny Ortiz, Justin Voisin, Logan Billiot, Conner Farias, and Chance Farias; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald James Voisin, Sr.; her parents, Antoine Morvant, Sr. and Mary Daigle Morvant; and one sister, Elizabeth Frances Morvant. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Journey Hospice, especially to her caregivers, Amanda, Felicia, Claudine, and Fr. Todd, and her best friends, Judy Gagneaux and Lisah Gagneaux, for the loving care and compassion given to Colleen over the past four months.
